Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. You can view Gravatar’s privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes publicly visible alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to DigiScoop Media’s website, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images if it’s present.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience—so you won’t have to re-enter them for future comments. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to check if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, several cookies will be used to store your login credentials and screen display preferences. Login cookies last two days, and screen option cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login stays active for two weeks. Logging out will remove the login cookies.
If you edit or publish content, another cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply shows the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 24 hours.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on DigiScoop Media may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.) that behaves the same way as if the visitor has visited the originating site.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interactions with their content—especially if you’re logged into their platforms.
Who We Share Your Data With
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can automatically approve follow-ups.
For users who register on our website (if applicable), we store the personal information provided in their user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their information at any time (except for their username). Website admins can also access and modify that data.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account or have left comments on the site, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you—including anything you’ve provided. You can also ask us to delete your data, except for information we’re required to retain for legal, security, or administrative reasons.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be filtered through an automated spam detection service.
